The Mountains Await

Experience world-class ultra trail running in the Santa Fe National Forest. Ultra Santa Fe’s four runs include: 50 mile, 50 kilometer, 13 mile, and an uphill mile.

The inaugural Ultra Santa Fe Trail Runs will take place on September 10, 2016 in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and foothills surrounding Santa Fe, New Mexico. The race distances offered this year are 50 miles, 50 kilometers, 13 miles, and 1 mile.

All races will begin and end at Ski Santa Fe at an elevation of 10,300 ft.  The 50 mile, 50 kilometer, and the 13 mile races all follow single track trails through high alpine ponderosa, mixed conifer forests, and the piñon and juniper covered foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains attaining a maximum elevation of approximately 12,000ft.

The events have been organized to help promote trail running in Northern New Mexico and to introduce runners to the vast trail network around Santa Fe. It is our hope that through a collective effort between local user groups, government agencies and non-profit leadership we can continue to preserve our local trails for all to enjoy.
